Description of Programme
This Chinatown Walking Tour allows participants to fully explore the early beginnings, cultural practices, heritage and characteristics of one of Singapore’s main constituent communities, the Chinese. The understanding of the motivations and struggles of the early Chinese in Singapore and their subsequent settlement into mainstream Singapore is traced and explained, showing insights that may surprise many Singaporean Chinese today.
